Description: Physiologist Mary Elizabeth Collett (b. 1888) attended Wellesley College (A.B., 1910) and the University of Pennsylvania (Ph.D., 1919) and had research appointments at Clark University, Karolinska Institute in Sweden, Brown University, and Carnegie Tech. When this photograph was taken, ca. 1920-1922, she was an instructor at the University of Buffalo. From 1924-1931, Collett was a professor at Western Reserve University and then taught at Flora Stone Mather College.
